The Runaway Star and the CEO's Chase

Anne Yule was an actress with a clean reputation, which was exactly what her sister set out to ruin. The plan put her in a hotel room with a stranger, and the stranger was Lloyd Hapag, who ran the Hapag Group. Anne found out she was pregnant. She dropped out of the industry and went missing for a year, telling nobody where she had gone, and had the boy alone. Lloyd meanwhile had drawn his own conclusion about whose child she was carrying and wanted nothing to do with either of them. On the day she gave birth he found her in the hospital. He took her and the child back to the Hapag house and offered marriage, partly out of obligation and partly out of something he was not ready to name. The housekeeper's daughter, Moyan, had been in love with him for years and did not take the new arrangement quietly; she went at Anne in small underhanded ways, and her father's attempts to talk her out of it made no difference at all. The sister was still working, too, and the Hapag family had things in its own past it had not told anyone.
