Yin Ximo and Bian Chen liked each other in high school, and neither of them did much about it. Then her parent and his parent married. The two families were folded into one household, and the two of them were told they were now brother and sister and would be living under the same roof. Everything they had been feeling had to be filed under family. What is left is a running fight, affection and resentment tangled up together, conducted at breakfast and in hallways in front of people who think they are watching siblings squabble. Her crush does not go anywhere; it just stops having a place to go, and it keeps showing through the arrangement. Bian Chen deals with it by racing motorcycles, taking the kind of risks that keep him unreachable and wound up, and every time he comes back from that the thing between them is hotter than it was before. The pretense of being brother and sister holds up in public and gets thinner in the house.
