She Flew Beyond the Courtyard Walls

Tang He's brother placed her with the Fu family, and the arrangement ended in a wedding to Fu Nanshen that neither of them had planned on. The marriage stays a marriage on paper. Fu Nanshen keeps going back to Lin Zhaozhao, close enough each time for Tang He to see it, and Tang He stops expecting anything from the marriage. She puts her name down for the construction work in Xinjiang and begins settling her affairs. Fu Nanshen learns that what Lin Zhaozhao has been telling him is untrue. He goes back over the small things Tang He has been doing, works out that she is leaving, and heads for the station.
