The Million-Dollar Divorce

Rahul spent five years living with his wife Sonia and her family, who ran through his money and treated him as a servant in his own marriage. Her brother slapped Rahul's mother Kavita, and when Rahul objected, Sonia took her brother's side and told him to divorce her if he did not like it. He agreed. A lawyer drew up the papers, both signed, and the property was split. Sonia's family kept using his credit cards after the signing. They bought a car, an apartment near a good school, and jewellery, running the balance to about a million. The cards were no longer his, so the debt sat on Sonia's name. Rahul moved into a large house with his mother and his daughter and waited for the bills to reach her.
