404 Error: You Lost My Love

Hugo trained for deep-sea work and gave it up for five years to look after Sheila, his wife, who was sick. He handled the treatment, the household, all of it. She humiliated him in front of people, ignored him at home, and when her wealthy ex came back into her life she chose him over her husband, in the open. Hugo files for divorce. Then he signs on to a deep-sea expedition, the kind of dangerous posting he had turned down for years, and leaves. Sheila only understands what he was to her once the flat is empty and there is no one managing her illness or her days. She had assumed the ex would still be there and had assumed Hugo would still be there. She starts trying to reach him and to find out where the expedition has taken him, and by then he has been at sea for some time and has stopped answering.
