Where the Wind Comes Home

Yan Rui is a doctor. After an incident in surgery she stops wanting to be alive, and she travels up Qingyun Mountain intending to end it there. On the mountain she runs into Duan Bo'an, who leads the patrol team and has been searching the same slopes for his older sister, missing for some time. He does not lecture her. He keeps turning up where she is, quietly, and puts himself between her and the drop more than once, and his stubbornness about staying alive gets into her. She listens to him about his sister and he listens to her about the operation, and both of them come out of it lighter than they went in. Once Yan Rui has decided to live, the people behind the events that ruined her take her. Duan Bo'an goes after her alone into obvious danger, and she is badly injured shielding him. Three years pass with him gone, working out what actually happened, and when he has the truth he comes back to the place on the mountain where they first met.
