Don’t Mess with Her! The Thunder Goddess Returns!

The war of the gods is over and Thrud is left running the realm of the Aesir. One of the first things she does with that power is bring back Alviss, who had been turned to stone for offending Zeus, and raise him to godhood within her own clan. He knows what it cost her and he swears he will treasure her for it. She is away often, and she comes back wounded from one of those absences to find Alviss with an envoy called Levia, the two of them close, and Levia wearing Thrud's crown and the sacred band from her marriage. Alviss explains it. Levia tended him through all the years he stood as stone, so he has already raised her to the rank of divine envoy, and he says this as though it settles the question. Levia lets the marriage band fall to the floor, deliberately, while Thrud is watching. Thrud strikes her, takes the title back on the spot, and orders her out of the realm of the Aesir.
