Steal My Beast? I'll Crush You All!

Jiang Lanyue keeps an ancient Qilin. She is the Grand Elder of the sect, Zhenyue Peak is her private property, and the sect leader Lu Cangyuan has been drawing on sect funds for years. Lu Cangyuan puts Ye Ling'er, a disciple still in her trial period, up to tricking the Qilin away from her. Ye Ling'er goes along with it to get ahead and does not understand who she is stealing from. Jiang Lanyue finds out. She calms the Qilin, then opens the accounts and goes through them line by line. She takes the Qilin back, reclaims the deed to Zhenyue Peak, and makes Lu Cangyuan return everything he has taken. His cultivation is destroyed and his immortal root is pulled out. Ye Ling'er is sentenced to hard labor for life. Jiang Lanyue leaves and founds her own sect, Mingxin. On the day of its opening ceremony the Qilin turns east and starts howling. Something larger than it is coming down out of the clouds in the distance.
