The Dragon King’s Blind Secret Wife

Elara gave up her eyes to save Prince Kaelen Valerius from a wound or curse that would have killed him. The court sent her to the slums afterward, blind and carrying his child. She gave birth there and raised twins alone for seven years while Kaelen took the throne and became known as the Dragon King. When Kaelen located Elara again, he found her and the twins living under abuse from those around them. He removed them from the slums and brought them back to the palace to make up for the years they had lost. A woman named Vespera, positioned as a rival for Kaelen's favor, arranged to have Elara switched with a woman held on death row, planning to pass the condemned woman off as Elara and remove the real one from the palace records. The swap was aimed at the twins as much as at Elara, since their standing depended on hers. Elara's blindness remained tied to whatever curse or price had taken her sight in the first place. Her search for a way to reverse it ran alongside the effort to keep Vespera's substitution from taking hold before it could be finalized.
