The Mafia’s Dangerous Secretary

Aria makes her living as a mistress consultant, the kind of specialist wealthy wives hire when they suspect their husbands are stepping out. Mrs. Hollis forces her to take a different kind of job: pose as a private secretary inside a mafia family, get close to the Godfather, Elric, and manufacture evidence that he is having an affair. Aria takes the position and starts working directly under Elric. As she settles into the household she realizes the affair accusation was never real. The whole assignment was set up by people inside the organization who want Elric removed so they can take control of the family themselves. Mrs. Hollis is one piece of that plan. Aria refuses to hand over anything that would be used against Elric. She stays in the house knowing that if the people running the scheme find out she switched sides, they will kill her. Over the following weeks members of the plot against Elric are exposed and taken down one at a time, some through Aria's own doing. Elric, who had trusted no one in his organization, starts trusting her instead. By the end, with the people who tried to unseat him dealt with, Elric steps down from his position as head of the family and leaves that life behind for Aria, the woman who was originally sent to destroy him.
