Rising from the Ashes

Synopsis

A hardworking young couple sets up a street stall to make a living. For the past five years, the wife's mother has been suffering from worsening heart disease. One day, while the wife is massaging her mother's back, a group of thugs shows up. They scare away the customers and wreck the stall... An intense and thrilling tale of pretending to be a girlfriend begins. How much heartache and tears are hidden behind this facade?

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
