Superb Life After My Parents' Return

Ted Lew works a construction site, saving toward a wedding with his girlfriend Elsa. His parents divorced twenty years ago and both went abroad, leaving him behind in the country to grow up alone. Neither of them realised how that left him. His father built one of the largest fortunes in the world; his mother rose to the highest general's rank in the army. At Elsa's graduation party she humiliates Ted publicly and announces her engagement to Terrence, the son of a powerful family. His parents happen to arrive home looking for their son that same night and walk in on the scene. Their positions mean they cannot say who they are, so they introduce themselves to Ted as a poor couple and stay near him that way. Amy, a friend who has cared for him quietly for years and said nothing while he was fixed on Elsa, is the one who speaks up for him. With his parents' hidden support and Amy's encouragement Ted gets back on his feet and cuts Elsa off completely. Terrence uses his family's reach to move against the Lews repeatedly, and each attempt is turned aside by a couple he cannot place. Ted eventually learns who his parents are, though what stays with him is the twenty years they were not there.
