The Human Bait

Li Huang wanted Lu Niansheng, whom she had been separated from as a child by a kidnapping and by what each was told about the other afterwards. Years passed in the disorder of the Republican era and she rose to power. She found him again at an auction house, where he was one of the lots. She bought him and kept him beside her like a canary in a gilded cage. What she did not know was that the auction and the purchase were arranged by Lu Niansheng. The two of them hurt each other for a long time before the misunderstandings came apart layer by layer. Then they worked together against the person who had set everything in motion.
