Every Death Brings Me Back to You

Sophie Lane was working a costumed NPC shift at a tourist site when an accident happened. She woke as the fourth concubine the Marshal's household had just taken in, and within three days she was dead. Then she was back at the same moment, alive, with everything to do again. She is shot. She is poisoned. She is drowned in the pond. Each time the three days run out and the loop starts over. Somewhere in the repetitions she works out that Ethan Carter, the young Marshal, carries modern memories the same as she does and has been struggling through the same loop. They test each other first, then start working together against the scheming and the attacks inside the household. The plotting and the killings hidden in the Marshal's residence come apart over the course of the repeated deaths, and the restarts are also where the two of them settle what they feel about each other.
