His Longest Secret

On Emma's birthday, with the wedding close, Spencer took a call from his first love and left Emma alone out in the middle of nowhere. Two drunk men found her there and nearly assaulted her before Joshua got her away from them. She had stayed with Spencer through his worst years and was still with him when he came out of them. She called off the wedding and married Joshua almost immediately. Joshua had come back to Riverton not long before as the heir to a fortune there, and he had been in love with her for eight years, which she did not know when she agreed to it. He spent on her freely after that.
