Still Losing to You

Elliot Jenkins follows Amelia Brooks around Harborton and turns up at her door, telling her that whoever she dates and whoever she ends up with, she has to keep half of herself for him. Amelia had broken things off with him three years earlier, without much warning, and left the city. His parting line was, "Amelia, you are like rain, like a lake, so hard to cross." She took him for too proud to ever come looking, and she was wrong about that. They ran into each other on her first night back, and he has not left her alone since. He tells her that after three years and all that ground in between, he still comes off the loser whenever he is standing in front of her.
