A jumpy, love-starved art student raised by a harsh single mother — paired with a gentle, well-mannered, emotionally steady, home-loving kind of teacher. The in-laws are a dream and the sister-in-law is refreshingly no-nonsense. Warm, sweet, quietly healing. They meet through matchmaking, marry almost immediately, and live together politely, respectfully, at arm's length. Then he gets wrecked at a work dinner, she goes to collect him, the car gets towed, and she ends up sitting with him all night. Ep7's hug in the rain is unreasonably romantic! Ep12 he signs everything he owns over to her. Grandpa nudges them into sharing a room, and from Ep20 it's kissing anywhere, anytime lolol Ep40 her mother tears into her and she cries 😭😭 Big sis steps in, and Ep50 is the wedding night!! Ep54 she finally tells her mother no. Ep72 the student–teacher thing comes out. They both plan surprise gifts, it turns into a misunderstanding, and then he proposes at graduation! Ep74 they finally make peace in the dressing room and I was gone 😭😭 Dancing in the rain on the wedding day was lovely too!!
I was rolling around in bed the entire time 😚😚😚 So lovable and both of them are so hot 🤪🤪🤪🤪 The kissing scenes are great too! Grown-up push and pull!!! The spicier lines were a win as well 😆
How do I put this — everything's just slightly off. The sudden falling in love, the mutual thing, the whole saving-each-other angle. Still watchable though.
She is genuinely stunning 🥰🥰 Even I felt for her — no wonder the emperor lost it over a face like that! Also the emperor gives very much "kid doing an impression of a grown-up"??
I loved this one. It's kind of different from the rest of what I've watched so far. Very little to no bullying, the girl doesn't get humiliated, there are no bad men who betray her, and no unnecessary misunderstandings. I just love it when a show puts female empowerment and romance together without running the same tropes over and over. Honestly one of the best vertical dramas I've seen. ❤️
Bored out of my skull. Spread it over two days and fell asleep both times.
Costumes, makeup, props, faces — nothing to complain about. But what on earth is this plot?
Yao Guanyu clearly hadn't figured out her face yet at this point, it's really distracting 😅 The acting itself is fine but her mouth droops so hard it's physically painful to watch 😣
