Badass Driver, Hidden Blade

Kendra's parents die and the Lopez Group is left without anyone at the top who can hold it. Rival houses read the gap correctly and begin moving on the company's assets, and the attempts on the family stop being commercial almost at once. Claude is hired quietly to keep Kendra alive. He is an elite fighter who spends his public life acting like a playboy, and the staff around Kendra take him for the new driver and treat him accordingly. He lets that stand. The first assassination attempt he breaks up in seconds, and the second, and after that he starts working backwards from the attacks to the people arranging them. What he finds inside the household is a mole placed there by the Blain family, feeding out schedules and routes. Exposing the plant does not end anything. More parties arrive, each with its own claim on the Lopez holdings, and the plots run into one another. Kendra and Claude also spend much of this misreading each other, since he will not explain who he is or who sent him, and the gap between the man she thinks she employs and the man doing the work keeps widening. When the situation gets bad enough that hiding is no longer useful, he drops the pretense in front of everyone.
