Sleep with Me, Mortal!

Astrid Hall's magic is out of balance, and the fix, she is told, is masculine energy. She has never been around men. Her coven is women only, so she enrolls at a co-ed private school to find some, arriving with no idea how ordinary people talk. There she meets Nate Woodford, who is blind and very good looking, and the two of them strike sparks immediately. Astrid looks closer at his blindness and finds it is not medical at all but a curse. She can lift it. She proposes a straight trade: she restores his sight, and in exchange he does anything she asks of him. He agrees. What she intends to ask for is help balancing her power, which in the coven's language means sleeping together, and she says so plainly, in front of people, having no notion of what the phrase means outside her own world. The reaction she gets teaches her the difference. She has to keep working on the curse while she catches up on everything about human society that nobody ever taught her, and the bargain she made now means something quite different to Nate than it does to her.
