Zaiden runs a business group and has kept himself celibate. He has also been told he will not reach thirty. He was born with a body carrying nothing but Yang, and the one thing that can clear it is a woman born with the matching Yin body, marked by a peach blossom at the waist. He looked for her across the country and came up with no one. Amaya is a college student with no money, and she is the one. Zaiden forces her into marriage because he wants to live. What he learns afterwards is that taking the Yang out of him puts her life where his was, and by then he is in love with her and does not want the trade. Amaya has fallen for him too and goes through with it anyway. Zaiden is left thinking she did not survive it. Seven years later she comes back into his life. She is blind and she has a child with her.
