Serena Harris runs her company and has a reputation for what she does to men who confess feelings to her. Alfred Carter works for her. He comes into a system that pays out rewards when he declares his love, and after two declarations he has martial arts cultivation and a body that no technique can touch. The system sets a condition: three chances, and if she does not truly love him by the end of them, he is erased. With nothing left to lose, Alfred goes at it hard, and Serena starts to notice him. Around the same time a healer and a master come down from the mountain to force her into a marriage. Chester Renwick goes after her life force. Alfred puts himself in front of her, telling her not to be afraid because he is the lead in this story. He saves her more than once, and she comes around to him. He also helps the temple move against the mountain sect.
