The Phoenix Throne

Evelina Blackwood ends up spending a night with the crown prince because of a plot that was meant to disgrace her, and from then on the two of them are close. The plot was her fiancé's and her stepmother's, and it involved drugging her. Before any of that, Evelina had died in a famine. She starved, and the only power she had ever been given was a test of parentage, which was of no use to her. She opened her eyes again inside a bridal sedan in an ancient age. There the parentage test turned out to have a use. With it she showed that her fiancé and her stepmother were lovers and that they had a son between them whom they had kept hidden. The fiancé's name was ruined by it, and he and the stepmother went after her with the drugging, which is how she came to the crown prince. She goes on to expose that her stepmother had her father bring up a child that was another man's, and makes her father behave like a father. Then, with the crown prince, she sets about punishing the fiancé and those with him.
