Fur-tunate: Born Full of Luck

Lightning broke over the house on the night the Finley family's youngest was born. They were poor and had waited a long time for a daughter. Liora came into that family from modern times, and she could talk to animals and to grass and trees, which she told her worries and the local gossip to. What she could do had to stay inside the family, since anyone outside who heard of it would want the use of her. The family's luck turned from her birth on and the household got steadier year by year. One brother became a general with her help, another a merchant, another a cook. She got her third brother away from a woman who was after his money. She knew her sister-in-law was pregnant before anyone said so, and she took her sister-in-law's side against the person who had wronged her. She saved the Crown Prince. The Emperor came to the house to see her. He set up the first school for girls in the country in her name. The Crown Prince asked her to come to the capital and meet him there again.
