White City's Shadow Blade

The lord of White City takes a young orphan trained as an assassin and makes her his shadow blade. She serves him, and in exchange he promises to free her after a set number of years. They get through one lethal job after another together, and his real reasons for keeping her stay unclear the whole time. Something grows between them that neither names. As the date of her release comes closer she finds out that the freedom she was promised is a trap that was arranged in advance. There is a conspiracy underneath it. She has to decide whether to go on being his weapon or try to break out, and the cost of breaking out may be her own heart.
