The Gilded Trap

Ivy goes home with her boyfriend to meet his parents, expecting to be taken into the family. What she hears while she is there is the family, her boyfriend included, working out how to marry her and get hold of her family's property. She leaves in a hurry. He follows her all the way to her own house, and there the man who had been gentle with her for as long as she had known him shows himself to be someone with no limits at all. His whole family backs him with threats. Ivy takes the matter to the law. She builds a case against them, for her own sake and for the other women the family has cheated and pushed down before her, and brings what they have done into the open.
