Why I Did It

Zoe's brother Andrew, a journalist, has gone missing, and the notebook he kept turns up in her hands after she has already made a mess of her own life. She had moved back to the city she grew up in because her job bored her and she wanted a new start, with a plan to find work, meet someone and get some life back into things. On a night out by herself she meets Mr. Gregory and goes home with him. She then runs into Sophia, an old friend, and they grow close, and that is how Zoe learns that the man she slept with is Sophia's husband. The notebook belongs to the same story: what Andrew was looking into leads back towards Gregory.
