Undercovered Heart

Mary is a narcotics officer. Her partner is killed and the scene is arranged to look like an overdose, and the department declines to open it as a homicide. She decides to go after James Sinclair, who runs the trafficking operation she holds responsible, and takes a job as his secretary under cover. Inside the organisation she finds Sinclair is not what she expected. He is charming, he keeps a great deal hidden, and there are things about him she did not plan for. While she is gathering evidence against him she meets his young daughter Lily, who knows nothing about her father's business. Mary and Lily become close, and Mary is pulled between the case she came to build and the child.
