I Became a Maid in My Own Novel

A writer named Jiang Meng woke inside a palace novel she had written herself, in the body of Mu Wanqiu, a maid at the bottom of the household. Her foster mother, Nanny Zhang, was in danger there. Mu Wanqiu had read the book and knew what each person would do next. She went up against Consort Yue and then the Empress, and stepped clear of the traps set for her. Consort Yue moved with her father Liu Sheng and with Murong Yuan, who ruled the grasslands, and they took the palace by force. Mu Wanqiu forged a will. Murong Yuan read it and took her for the daughter he had lost, and the rising stopped there. The people who had run it were tried afterward. Mu Wanqiu gave up her position in the back palace and asked to leave, and the Emperor Chu Tian cleared the way for her without saying so in front of the court.
