The Discarded Heir Was A Sage

In the North, standing among the great houses depends on bearing a holy mark, and the Blackthorn heir Aiden had none. He lost both parents, and his uncle Gareth threw him off a cliff and counted him dead. What was under the cliff was the Void. Aiden lived there seven years and came back with the Dawn Codex and the Dawn Blade. He still thinks of himself as the boy who could not manage a beginner's spark, and does not notice that an offhand swing puts knights on their knees and turns giants to mud. An old betrothal brings him into the Ashford house, where the killings in his family become an open matter again. Gareth meant to leave nothing behind and left this.
