Married to Murder

The Eastreach court is at its worst point. Tribes to the north are waiting for an opening, the south is rotten with corruption, ordinary people are starving and the noble houses spend without limit. Into this arrives Miles Carrington, from another time. To save his own neck he marries Lady Talia Rowan, sixth daughter of an old noble house. Talia turns out to be the most feared woman of the age. Inside six months she castrated and then killed four husbands. A second woman, the Red Reaper, comes after Miles for a treasure map she believes he has. Miles is pulled into the fighting between the nobles and the tribes and grows into it. At first he only wants to stay alive. After seeing what the period does to people he decides the aim is to save them. Along the way he becomes entangled with Talia, with the Red Reaper, with a daughter of another great house, with a cold swordswoman and with other women.
