May We Never Meet Again

Esme Quinn wants her husband to love her, and three years into the marriage he still treats her like rubbish. The woman he keeps close is his old love, and he treasures her openly. Esme has put up with it because she loves him. Then her father needs treatment she cannot pay for, and her husband is not there. He has flown abroad to set off a hundred thousand dollars' worth of fireworks for the other woman. Esme sells her wedding ring to pay the hospital. She decides she no longer wants the marriage, leaves the divorce papers, and goes. When he learns she has gone he comes after her shaking, repeating the vow he made at their wedding, that he will not let her go and there will be no divorce.
