Marcus is a civil engineer in the modern day. He wakes in a war-torn era in the body of a discharged soldier with his own name, and a Cheat Menu System binds itself to him. The local authority is forcing marriages at the time, so he takes in three women of unusual background, Helena, Julieta and Amalia. He redeems modern goods through the system. A house goes up in a single night. He digs a gold mine out of the hill behind the house with an excavator, which settles the landlord's demand for repayment and the official harassment that came with it. One of the sisters of a woman in his household comes in posing as an orphan and sets him up on a charge of molesting her, and a lie detector out of the system breaks the accusation. The landlord hires a martial artist to come after him and he turns the man's attack back on him with a rebound shield, then stands accused of murder in the county court, where he makes the dead man speak. Then Julieta's rank comes out. She is a prince's daughter, and General Ye arrives with troops to take her. Marcus frightens the whole force off, which brings her father, the Prince of Su. To keep her, Marcus swears he will be the richest man in the region within three months. He starts with down jackets to open a trade route, then brings in a mining excavator and takes coal out of the ground, and the money comes fast. The prince burns the workshop down, and when that fails he takes all three women hostage. Marcus wipes out the guards with an Italian cannon. Julieta's heart condition returns. He spends every point he has to open a portal and takes her back to the modern day for treatment.
