Synopsis
A fire broke out. My father went in and carried out the child of the woman he had loved before my mother. He left me in the flames. Afterwards he was named a hero for going into the fire to save lives. My mother was told what had happened, and the marriage went on until it didn't. Our household broke apart. My father's own condition worsened over the years that followed. I was in the room for most of it. Outside the family, the account of that day has stayed the same one it always was.
