No Way Home

Felix Wayne has been giving his own blood to his wife Emily for years. She has a rare illness and the transfusions are what keep her going. Emily and their son think of him as useless and poor and treat him with contempt. Felix is an astronaut who put the family ahead of his career. Emily grows close again to Raymond Campbell, her first love, and the son starts to look up to Raymond and talk down to his father. Felix uses his work on the Aerospace Academy project to get the son a postgraduate place. Emily and the son give Raymond the credit for it. Felix signs up for a space mission with no return trip and files for divorce. By that time he is sick himself. He goes on giving Emily blood while his own condition gets worse.
