The Terror Beneath

Mason is a researcher. He met his wife, who came from a farming village, and together with her family they worked their way out of poverty. He worked nights on his research and was present at each of his daughter's birthdays. The couple later separated. Mason travels with his daughter, his ex-wife, and her family to a campsite on a lake that is said locally to hold a monster. His ex-wife's new boyfriend is on the trip and mocks Mason. During the stay Mason has a strong sense of having lived through the trip before. He attributes this to memories of a previous life. From them he determines that a creature from the lake will attack the group, and he tells the others. Only his daughter believes him. The creature attacks, and Mason applies his scientific training and survival skills to lead the group's escape, taking his daughter with him.
