The Choice That Killed

Angela Lynn and her husband, Gabriel Morales, had one daughter, Sophie. In a car crash Gabriel had a choice of which child to pull out, and he went for the daughter of his first love, Lily. Sophie died in front of Angela. Angela does not learn until later which way he chose, and when she does she cuts him off and does not go back. Gabriel lives with it. He is caught in a fire afterwards and loses his legs and his face, and spends the rest of his life alone with what he did. Angela sets up a mudslide rescue foundation in her daughter's name, funding search work for children like Sophie, and builds a life without him.
