Surviving The Century Old Curse

Chen Mo signs on for work advertised as sleep testing, which pays well and means spending his nights inside a house that has been shut for a hundred years. He takes it because his mother is ill and the treatment has to be paid for, and because his sister is still in school. At the start he does not know that his own family line runs back to the house. The place was built at the end of the Qing. Cold comes through rooms with nothing to account for it. There are noises with nothing behind them, and shapes that appear and are gone. He starts looking into the house between nights, turns up what was buried there, and works out how his own birth is tied to it. Something in the house begins moving on him while he does that.
