The Woman in My Trunk is My Wife?

Miles Chester, chairman of the Chester Group, is driving home late at night when his car strikes a woman in white at the entrance of an empty tunnel. He moves the body into the trunk and leaves the scene. His wife goes missing the same night, and what he finds afterward lines up with the woman in the trunk being her, though he has not confirmed it. A message reaches him from a sender he cannot identify, carrying video of the collision and of him loading the body. The sender asks for a large sum and says the video goes out otherwise. In the days after, a doctor, a mechanic, a security guard and an uncle who has attached himself to the household all turn up around him with business of their own. Traffic police stop his car and attendants come up to it at a filling station, and he comes near to being found out both times.
