The Silent Blade

The men Ethan Woods beat on his way to the top of the southern martial world do not forget him, and there are a lot of them. While the title is being decided they go to his house. He comes home from winning it and his wife has been killed there. He quits. She had asked him to stop challenging people and live an ordinary life, so he leaves the martial world, takes their child, and goes north. The martial arts school she left him is still open, and when he looks in on it her students are being pushed around by anyone who feels like it and the place is close to shutting. Trouble keeps arriving anyway. The times are unsettled and keeping his head down buys him nothing, so he fights again, and word of him gets around the northern martial world.
