She Fights, She Rises

Selene Wren wants her standing in the Wren family back, and her mother's with it. Her mother has been demoted to a servant in the household. Selene had been the best martial artist in the family, born with the Pure Sun Body, a constitution that turns up once in a hundred years, until an accident made her absorb fifteen hundred years of cultivated energy from her master. Her body took it in and she became fat. Her relatives mock her, and her fiancé broke off the engagement in front of a crowd. Only her mother and her sister still treat her with any warmth. Selene decides to enter the entrance tournament of the Heavenly Sect and win it. Her opponent there turns out to be the man she once spent a night with, and he sees through what she is doing. She places low in the rankings, but her master notices that she is carrying far more power than she shows. A hostile family then attacks her, and while she is close to death the stored energy breaks loose. Her meridians open, the extra weight comes off her, and her strength rises far past what it was, without her yet knowing how to control it.
