ONE MORE LIFE IN 1984

In a farming village in 1984, Amy Carter's husband and his family have knocked her about for years, and his mistress lords it over her in her own house. Amy has been laid in a coffin. The woman who pushes the lid open is Blair Carter, a boxing champion from the twenty-first century. She was in the middle of a bout when she found herself in Amy's body. Her first night in 1984 is spent in the pigsty, with the mistress bullying her. Blair pieces together how Amy had been treated by the husband and his family, and decides she will live Amy's life over as a second version of her. She knocks her husband down with one punch, gives the mistress a tongue-lashing that sends her off, and makes life hard enough for the husband's family that the divorce goes through. On the day the divorce is granted she finds a handsome company boss collapsed by the roadside, takes him home, and puts him to work as her farmhand. Other women in the village, which is closed off and a long way behind the times, watch what she does, and some of them start to push back at home too.
