In the Stormfang Pack a girl taken in by the Alpha is raised to take one of his sons as her mate, and a mate bond of that kind can be refused in front of the whole pack. Elara came into the household ten years ago on those terms, with five brothers to choose among. All five of them fell for Jenny, an omega who works in the house as a maid, and Jenny arranged things so that Elara was humiliated and worn down. On her eighteenth birthday Elara stands up in public, rejects the bond with all five brothers, and says she is engaged to Xavier Lockhart, the Lycan Prince. Xavier carries a curse that will kill him. The brothers work out later what Jenny had been doing and set about trying to get Elara back.
