Bitter Cherries, Sweet Revenge

The cherries are sitting in a convoy of black trucks with the cooling switched off, and the crew running them has put a price on turning it back on. The village that grew the fruit cannot cover it and the load is going over by the hour. Before any of that the crop had been going out with a driver from the same village, a man who owns a refrigerated truck and works long distance. Someone with local standing put it about that he was charging his neighbours too much, and the village took it as fact and went at him. His wife was pushed over and hurt while it was going on, his daughter's sweets ended up in the dirt, and he took the truck and left. The growers come and find him with the load spoiling and go down on their knees in front of him. He shows them the credentials he has been carrying the whole time, which make him an inspector, and he starts on the trucking crew and the man behind the rumours through official channels.
