Wrong Man in One Life, the Godfather in the Next

Maggie is the heir to an Irish mob family. She is murdered, and she comes back. Everything she used to want she now has no use for, starting with the boyfriend she wrecked herself over, whom she hands to the stepsister who had been smiling at her and working against her the whole time. Then she is sent to New York as the family's sacrificial bride, married off to Vincenzo, the Godfather, a man with a reputation for cruelty. She goes into it expecting a bargain with the devil and priced accordingly. What she gets from him instead is a devotion with nothing held back, absolute, and taking up all the room there is.
