Swapped Wedding Night

Two sisters go out of the same house to be married on the same night, each carried to her husband's gate in a covered sedan chair, and the chairs arrive at the wrong gates. The elder, Lu Mingyue, was promised to Gu Xiting and would have been the wife of a senior minister. She ends up in the bridal chamber of Qin Mingchuan, who keeps birds and fights dogs for entertainment and who spends the first night of the marriage at a brothel. Her sister Lu Lingyue grew up on the frontier, draws a five-stone bow and cannot hold an embroidery needle. She had planned to open her marriage by putting her worthless husband in his place, and when she looses the arrow the man at the other end of it is Gu Xiting. He laughs and takes it. He backs her after that, and later gets her a training post with the capital garrison. He had seen her a year earlier and had said nothing about it to anyone since. Mingyue does not complain about where she has landed. She works on Qin Mingchuan with silver needles and patience, takes over the household accounts and turns them around, and when her father needs medicine she gives her own blood to make it. The man who had never held a sword picks one up and puts himself in front of her. People around them had expected both marriages to become a joke.
