The Discarded Son Who Forged Thunder

Caelan wants a place in the family he was born into, and there is none for him. He came out with no magic in him, and a noble house of that standing does not keep a child like that, so they put him out. Twenty years later he comes back to the estate as a blacksmith and nobody there places him. His mother knows him the moment she sees him. His father looks at the same person and sees the thing that shamed the house, and says so, and Caelan lets it stand and goes on working. He keeps to that until a rival house moves on the estate and the family is close to being wiped out. Then he stops hiding. The magic the house said he was born without is there, it came down to him from Thor, and he uses it in front of the people who threw him out.
