His Sweetheart Strides Back

The Seager Group was a family company and Julia Seager was the eldest daughter of the man who ran it. He took up with another woman while Julia was still a child. Her mother's health broke down over the years that followed, she was ill with depression, and she took her own life. The other woman was Nathalie Oliver. She got pregnant and used the pregnancy to fix her own position in the household. She kept Julia at the edge of it and brought up Julia's mother whenever she wanted an argument out of her. In one of those arguments Nathalie threw herself down the stairs and said that Julia had pushed her. A second woman backed the story up. Julia's father sent her abroad to study over it. She came back not long afterward to avenge her mother.
