The Second Life Vow

In this world a person can die and wake up again inside her own past, on a day she has already lived through, with everything she remembers still in place. Evelyn was the older Collins daughter and the one the family favoured. The night before her wedding her fiancé Bill brought home a girl called Lila and said Lila was the Collins daughter who had gone missing years earlier. On the wedding morning the Collins parents swapped the two wedding cars, which put Evelyn in the car going to Bill's older brother Victor and left Lila free to marry Bill. Five women had married Victor before and none of them lived long after the wedding, so people treated him as bad luck. Evelyn would not accept the swap. She pushed Bill into marrying her instead and got three years of a cold house for it. At the end Bill gave up his own life for hers, and what he asked in return was that she let him be with Lila in the next life. Evelyn died soon after with the hatred still in her. Then the wedding car stops again and she is sitting in it. This time she gets out and takes Victor's hand, which makes her Bill's sister-in-law.
