Mei Yan goes in for a gynecological check-up and the doctor who sees her is Chu Yixiao. She meets him again at a blind date her mother arranged, and the doctor is the man across the table. Her mother has been pushing her to marry, so Mei Yan suggests on impulse that the two of them get a room. Chu Yixiao is gentler about it than she expected. Mei Yan works at a bank. When a crisis breaks out there, Chu Yixiao steps in on her behalf, and after that she quits and pushes back against the treatment she had been putting up with. They spend a night together and the relationship deepens. Chu Yixiao is weighing a return to the United States. A childhood friend of Mei Yan's and her boss both confess their feelings around the same time.
