Raising the Future Villain Across Time

Su Jin needs to prove the Great Yue Dynasty existed. Her thesis argues for it, and closing that hole would confirm China's five thousand years of history, but the only thing she has to work with is a worn scroll her advisor handed her. There are no records of Great Yue anywhere else. The scroll turns out to be the way in. In Great Yue, Shen Yubai is coughing himself to death with consumption. His father died early, leaving a widow and an orphan for the clan to push around, and years in bed have made him gloomy. One day the scroll his father left him lights up, and through it he and Su Jin can pass objects back and forth. Her teacher tells her why Great Yue left no historical records. A corrupt chancellor wrecked the court. If the history is going to survive intact, that man has to be stopped. She passes the worry through the scroll and asks Shen Yubai to watch what the chancellor is doing. Shen Yubai looks down at the chancellor's waist token in his hand and smiles.
